Knowing the requirements and steps required to form an LLC in Texas is important. This comprehensive guide will show you how to create an LLC in just three easy steps. Continue reading to find out about Texas LLC requirements and fees. Also, how to register your business.

Texas LLC Filing Requirements

Before you file your limited liability company (LLC), it is a good idea that you are familiar with the steps and requirements. Before you can proceed with the filing process in Texas, like every other state, you will need to know certain requirements.

There are some unique requirements that an LLC must meet in Texas:

  • Putting “LLC” in the name: Texas law mandates that “Limited Liability Company”, or “Limited Company”, be included in the name. The option to abbreviate “L.L.C.,” L.C.” or Ltd. is available. Co.”
  • An LLC cannot share a name or trademark with an existing company. Your LLC name must stand out from other entities within the state. Your application will be rejected if your name is too similar to an already existing brand. You can request a Reservation, Renewal or Renewal form for the name or Form 505 to reserve it. You can keep the name for up 120 days by paying a $40 filing fee.
  • Registered agent required: All LLCs in Texas must have a registered agent. A registered agent may be an individual Texan (including the LLC’s owners or workers) or a registered agent company with permission to operate within the state. In the event of a lawsuit, the agent will accept paperwork on your behalf. The agent must have a physical address in the state and not a P.O. box. Importantly, the LLC cannot be its own registered agent. A reputable agent will cost you between $100-300 annually. Do your research to ensure that you are satisfied with the service provided by the agent.

In 5 Easy Steps, Start a Texas LLC

It’s easy to set up an LLC in Texas. These are the steps you need to take to get your Texas LLC up and running.

Step 1.

Name your business. Name your business, as we have discussed.

  • Limited Liability Company
  • Ltd. Co.
  • L.L.C.
  • L.C.
  • Limited Company

You must also have a unique name that passes the business entity search test. An LLC cannot be formed with the same name as an existing entity in Texas. It is also a good idea to eliminate names that sound or look similar to existing businesses, particularly if they are located in your locality or industry. Trademark issues can arise from misleadingly similar names. Competing with another company using the same name can cause trademark problems.

You cannot include certain terms in your name. These are:

  • Treasury
  • State Department
  • FBI
  • CIA
  • Other terms

As long as the Texas State Government allows you to use terms like bank, lawyer, university, or attorney, you are allowed to do so. These requirements must be met before you add any terms to your LLC in Texas.

Step 2.

You already know that an LLC can only be opened in Texas if it is registered. Now is the right time to find one. You will select a registered agent with a physical address within the state of Texas. To receive personal service of legal documents, this person must be present at the address during business hours.

Step 3.

Here are the links to the forms required for your LLC filing as well as the associated filing fees.

  • Form 205: This is the most important paperwork you need to get your LLC started. You can either download it or complete it and file it online via SOSDirect. The filing fee is $300
  • Form 304: LLCs based outside Texas must file an “Application to Register a Foreign Limited Liability Corporation” form. Download the form. The filing fee is $750

You should mail in duplicate any completed physical forms to P.O. Austin, Texas 78711-3697.

Additional costs for taxes and filing fees or hiring a registered representative can run between $100 to $1,000. Although LLCs are not required to file annual reports in Texas or pay reporting fees, they may be subject to a state franchise fee.

Step 4.

An Employer Identification Number (EIN), which is a free number, can be obtained. The IRS gives your Texas LLC a nine-digit number. This number is used to identify you when applying for bank accounts, credit accounts, and filing taxes. This number is essential for your Texas LLC.

Get your free EIN from the IRS. The application is quick and easy to complete. Your EIN will be issued instantly.

Step 5.

Each Texas LLC should have an operating agreement that outlines the company’s day-to-day business operations. Although this document is internal, it is vital for the operation of the company. It will provide clear guidelines so members and managers don’t get confused about who does what in the company. It will ultimately reduce conflict.

Cost to set up an LLC in Texas

A Texas LLC filing costs $300 Additional fees may apply if you hire a professional to file the forms.

Texas State Franchise Tax Fee

The annual franchise tax on most Texas LLCs is imposed on them. Additional information about how the tax is calculated is available on Texas Comptroller’s official website. You can find related tax documents.

After you have completed all necessary paperwork, you are able to:

  • You can upload them online. Electronic filing of “No tax due forms” is required.
  • Send the documents to P.O. Box 149348 Austin, Texas 78714-99348.

Correcting Texas LLC Filing Errors

Mistakes happen. If you make a mistake when you are filing an LLC, you must file a Certificate of Corrective Action or Form 403 with the Texas Secretary of State.

Be specific about what you want to change when you complete the document. The $15 filing fee is payable and cannot be done online.

Texas LLC FAQs

What is an LLC?

An LLC (or limited liability business) is a legal entity that is considered separate from its owner or members. This distinction protects owners from any debts incurred by the company and legal action against them.

How can you obtain an LLC in Texas?

Begin by choosing a name for your company. Make sure you follow the naming requirements. Register your company with the state and hire a registered agent. To ensure that all parties are on the same page regarding company management, you can use the IRS website to get a unique Employer ID Number.

Does Texas require an EIN to establish LLCs?

Federal law requires all LLCs with more than one member to apply for an Employer Identification Number (or EIN)

Is it possible to create an LLC for free in Texas?

You will typically pay $300 to register your Texas LLC. For new businesses 100% owned by veterans, there is no filing fee starting January 1, 2022. For the first five years of their existence, veteran-owned businesses don’t need to pay a franchise tax.

What are the advantages of a Texas LLC?

Because LLCs are more affordable than corporations that offer some liability protection, many entrepreneurs in Texas have set up LLCs. LLC finances can be treated separately from individual assets. You can also claim them on your taxes because they are pass-through tax entities.

There are exceptions for LLCs, whose members elect to be taxed like corporations.

What is the Texas tax treatment of LLCs?

LLCs do not have the same tax structure as corporations. LLCs are treated the same as sole proprietorships and general partnerships by default. All profits of the LLC are passed on to members who report them as income in their tax returns.

Qualifying LLCs may choose to be taxed either as an S-corporation, or a C-corporation. Talk to a tax professional if you have questions about taxes.

How can I dissolve a Texas LLC?

You must file a Certificate to Terminate, Form 651, with the Secretary of State in order to dissolve an LLC. This can be done in person or online. A filing fee of $40 is required.

How can I change the name of an LLC in Texas?

You will need to file a certificate stating that you wish to change the name of an LLC in Texas. Before you file the change, ensure that the new name is available.

How can I add a member of an LLC in Texas?

Follow the instructions in your operating agreement to add a member to your Texas LLC. You don’t need an operating agreement if you do not have one. Texas LLC law requires that all members approve the addition of a new member. Next, amend the operating agreement to add the new member and their responsibilities.

How can I change the ownership of a Texas LLC?

Texas LLC owners can change their own without filing a formal notice. You will however not be required to notify the new members or managers of the LLC when you file your annual Public Information Report with the state comptroller.

How can I add a DBA for a Texas LLC?

Sign in to the online portal for business services (SOSDirect). Complete the Assumed Name Certificate by going to the online portal (SOSDirect). To add the DBA name to the LLC-approved list, you will need to pay $25.

What are the various types of LLCs you can set up?

There are many types of LLCs available when you’re trying to decide how to start one. It is important to understand the different types of LLCs available so that you can choose the best business model for your company. These LLC structures include:

  • A single-member LLC: The LLC is owned by one person. Although it is similar to a sole proprietorship this LLC offers additional tax benefits as well as liability protection.
  • Multimember LLC: Standard LLCs that have more than one member are often divided into member-managed and manager-managed entities.
  • L3C: These entities are also known as “low-profit liability companies” and act as a bridge between nonprofit LLCs (for-profit LLCs) where the business case is the main focus, rather than the earnings.
  • Series LLC: Series LLC’s tiered business structures allow the topmost LLC to own a series of lower-tiered LLCs via unlimited segregation. Each LLC operates independently from the others; their assets are also primarily separate.
  • PLLC: This type of business formation is available only to licensed professionals.
  • Restricted LLC: Limited LLCs are exempt from tax for the first ten years of their formation. They cannot also make distributions to members. The articles of organization must state that the LLC is restricted.

Swyft Filings provide a lot of value with their $49 Basic Package.

They will help you complete your Articles of Organization, file them for you, provide a 30-minute free tax consultation with one of the in-house accountants, allow you to track your filing progress online, and even register your business domain name.

They are not higher up on the list because unlike Northwest they do not offer a free year for their registered agent service.

The only problem with SwyftT Filings is if you require a full year’s registered agent service, you will need to pay $149. They are three times more costly than Northwest.

7. MyCompanyWorks

My Company Works looks a lot like Swyft Filings.

The Basic Package includes everything needed to create an LLC. However, they charge $79. You will need to pay more if you wish to add a registered agent service. MyCompanyWorks will charge you $279 to upgrade to their Premium Package.

8. Inc Authority

Inc Authority is probably the most deceptive pricing strategy on this list.

You are lured in by the promise of a free business set-up, but as you can see with Incfile, it is often more costly in the long term.

They will file your initial Certificate Of Formation for $0 plus a state fee. However, if you need anything more (like an Operating Agreement or EIN) their next cheapest package costs $399. You can also upgrade to the $799 premium package if you need a year of registered agent service.

IncFile is the best option if you only need your Certificate of Formation to be filed for free. Northwest will still be the best choice if you need anything beyond this.

9. Incorporate Fast

Incorporate Fast stands out from the rest by living up to its name. When you sign up for the $99 package (plus any state fees), they promise to file your paperwork within 24 hours. This promise is exclusive to them.

This is a solid service when you consider the fact that the Basic Package includes help with your Operating Agreement, some sample documents, and one year of their registered agent services.

They’re almost twice the price of Northwest, and they don’t offer free tax consultations or online document storage.

10. Bizfilings

BizFilings can file your formation documents and offer a year of free registered agent service. They do not offer online document storage, a business tax assessment, or an Operating Agreement template.

11. Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer is an addition to the list. This is because LLC formation, which isn’t a service they offer, isn’t one of their main offerings. It’s actually a complement to the main service Rocket Lawyer provides–online legal services.

Rocket Lawyer can assist you with your initial filings and provide an online document storage platform. It costs $99 plus state fees. Rocket Lawyer’s business formation service is not the most affordable or the best supported.

Rocket Lawyer offers great online legal services. Their LLC service is not that great.

12. LegalZoom

Overpriced in my opinion. LegalZoom has a similarity to Rocket Lawyer. They are primarily an online legal services company, but also offers formation services. They will file your Articles of Organization and provide a bank resolution for $99, after which you are on your own. They do not provide any free registered agent services.

You might use them already for your online legal services so you could consider using them to create an LLC. When adding a registered agent $299, an LLC operating agreement template $159, and other features, the price can go way up.

You are paying a premium for the LegalZoom brand.

13. Incorporate.com

Incorporate.com offers limited LLC formation packages, just like Rocket Lawyer or LegalZoom. But it’s not a side service. This is their main role, and they do it as well as they can. It’s not that inspiring.

14. CorpNet

Corpnet charges $79 to provide business formation services. However, they only file your initial documents and provide compliance alerts regarding your annual reports and tax payments. However, they do not provide registered agent services for the first 60 days.

IncFile is a better option if you only need a small selection. Northwest offers more options.

15. MyCorporation

MyCorporation costs $133 plus state fees to prepare your Operating Agreement and to process your Articles of Organization. Additional costs will apply if you require more extensive features such as those offered by Northwest.

16. Direct Incorporation

Direct Incorporation continues the trend of charging too much for very little. They offer their Texas LLC service at $147 plus state fees. Although they do offer an EIN and a bank resolution, it is still not market leader.

17. InCorp

InCorp assists with the filing of your Texas LLC formation paperwork and also assists with your Texas LLC Operating Agreement. All for $117

18. National Incorporations

Nationwide Incorporations costs $200 for the same services that you can get from InCorp.

19. SunDoc Filings

SunDoc Filings will submit your formation paperwork at $79, and you can get a few extras if the $99 or $279 packages are purchased. No matter which option you choose, you still get far less value than Northwest.

You will need to designate an agent if you are forming a limited liability company or corporation within the state of Texas.

A registered agent is an individual or business entity that receives state documents and forwards them to you. Why is this necessary? Who should you designate to be your registered agent in Texas?

This guide will provide all you need to know about Texas registered agents.

What is a Texas Registered agent?

We get many questions from entrepreneurs in Texas about why a registered agent is necessary to form an LLC/corporation. Although it may seem like a redundant role for a registered agent, this is actually a crucial role.

If your company is sued, the registered agent will provide a reliable means for the state of California to reach you. A lawsuit could be filed against you without your knowledge if you don’t have a registered representative.

Although Texas doesn’t have a recommended list for registered agent services, we reviewed the best options and created a list.

Who can be a Texas registered agent?

According to the Secretary of state, Texas’ registered agents can be either adult residents or business entities registered and authorized in Texas. Although an entity cannot serve as its own registered agent in Texas, Texas allows individuals, such as employees and owners, to serve as agents if they are residents of the state. Texas registered agents must have a physical address in all cases. This is necessary for any delivery that may be required.

Apart from the legal requirements, it is important to discuss who should act as your registered agent. You can declare yourself to be your registered agent. This has pros and cons.

You can save money by not having to pay anyone to be your agent. However, your home address will likely become a public record. This is not ideal. You will also need to be present during normal operating hours (9-5, M-F).

Entrepreneurs often want a friend or family member to act as their registered agent. However, if they don’t have any experience in this role, they may not be able to know what to expect. Although this option is possible, it can be costly.

We prefer to hire a registered agent service. This provides convenience, affordability, and peace of mind unmatched by any other options.

How do Texas residents get served?

Serving summonses is the most important aspect of a registered agent’s role.

Texas law requires that a plaintiff send a demand letter to attempt to resolve the dispute outside of court before a summons can be processed. The plaintiff can file a petition and submit it to the Clerk in the county where the defendant’s registered offices are located if there is no agreement. The filing fee for the plaintiff can vary depending on where it is located. It could be between $30 and $75.

If all of these steps have been taken correctly, then the state will serve a summons on the registered agent for the defendant.

How to designate a Texas registered agent

This question will depend on the type of business that you are starting. However, if you are forming a corporation or LLC, you will need to name your registered agent.

You will need to name your first registered agent in either case when filling out the documents for your company’s formation. This will be done on the Certificate for Formation for a Limited Liability Company form 205. When completing the Certificate for Formation of a For-Profit Corporation, you will be asked to name your registered agent. These forms can be completed online or submitted by mail.

It is a good idea to have your new registered agents complete the Acceptance and Consent to Serve As Registered Agent document. Although it is not required to file the document with Texas Secretary of State it is recommended that you do so for your records in the event of any disputes regarding the appointment.

How do I change my Texas registered agent?

It is easy to modify your registered agent.

It is the easiest and most cost-effective way to change your registered agent within Texas. You can either fill it here in a PDF, and mail it to the Texas Secretary-of-State or submit it online.

Only $15.00 is required to make a change using the Change in Registered Agent or Registered Office document. The Texas Secretary of State usually grants the change to effect the day after you file the document. This makes it easy and cost-effective.

What happens when a Texas registered agent decides to resign?

Sometimes, a registered agent might have to quit their position .

A Statement of Resignation by Registered Agent (form 402) is required for registered agents in Texas who wish to resign. You can complete the document here in a PDF, and mail, fax, or hand deliver it to the Texas Secretary Of State. The form does not require a filing fee.

Why should you hire a professional Texas agent service?

A professional registered agent can be a great option. They will act as both your agent and you can also designate a lawyer or accountant.

Privacy

We believe the greatest benefit is the privacy protection, which allows you to keep your address private. A registered agent service is almost always cheaper than having an accountant or attorney serve as your agent.

Professional Service

We also like the fact that these companies are specialized in providing high-quality registered agent services. They are well-informed and know what to do.

All over the country

Another benefit to hiring a registered agent is that they operate in all 50 States. This means that you don’t have to hire another registered agent if your business expands into another state. The same registered agent can provide coverage in Texas, but will also be available in Texas. A lawyer or accountant would not be able help you expand in a new state if there was an existing physical office.

Keep Compliant

Most professional registered agents in Texas offer a compliance calendar. This service is an added benefit that allows your registered agent to help you keep track of the due dates for ongoing LLC maintenance requirements such as annual reports.

Other attractive attributes of top registered agent service providers include access to their vast customer support networks. Many of them offer a year of registered agent services with every business formation package. This can save you a lot of money. A number of registered agent services offer volume discounts for customers who require service in multiple states or prepay for multiple years.

What is the penalty for not designating a registered agent in Texas?

To form a limited liability company in Texas, you must have a registered agent. However, if your registered agent service is lapsed, there could be serious consequences.

Failure to register a registered agent can result in your business losing its good standing before the state of Texas. The state has the right to dissolve your LLC at any time.

The difficulty of getting served when your business is sued would also be a problem. A court could decide to proceed with the lawsuit against you if it cannot reach your registered agent. This could happen if you fail or neglect to name a registered agent. It can also happen if your agent isn’t available during business hours to receive the document delivery.

Conclusion

You can see that designating a registered agent to represent your Texas company is not as simple as simply writing your name.

We believe there are some serious drawbacks to all options. However, we recommend that you hire a professional registered agent service as they have the least disadvantages. You don’t have to worry about losing good standing, having your LLC/corporation dissolved, or having a suit filed against you.

You can reach the Texas Secretary Of State if you have further questions.

3. ZenBusiness (Best New Registered agent)

Cons

  • Although customer reviews are sometimes negative, they do improve.

LegalZoom’s guarantee of 100% customer satisfaction was a great feature. It’s much stronger than other companies’ refund policies. They have the longest customer support hours in the industry with 9 hours available on weekends and 14 on weekdays.

LegalZoom’s high fees for registered agent services are a problem. LegalZoom does offer registered agent services but they do not offer them as part of their business formation packages. LegalZoom’s value propositions are not comparable to those of the other options in this guide.

Additional registered agents

Texas has many registered agent services. These six services are the most sought-after. However, I would like to highlight some other services that are available in Texas.

7. Rocket Lawyer

Northwest Registered Agent does not offer a dedicated customer support system like the ‘Corporate guides’.

Swyft Filings offers registered agent services to your Texas LLC/business for $149 It is not nearly as good as Northwest’s top-rated customer service.

10. CSC

Switching to Northwest Register Agent could be an easy way to save money. CSC has a long and distinguished history. They are an option when searching for Texas registered agents.

What is a Texas registered agent?

A Texas Registered Agent is an individual/business entity that has been designated by a Texas LLC/corporation in order to receive tax and legal documents such as service of process or compliance documents.

Although they can perform a number of tasks, registered agents have a larger role that is much more significant. They are the link between your business and the state where you do business.

First, the registered agent must be named as the recipient of any Texas tax documents or legal documents.

To receive legal documents, the registered agent must be present.

The registered agent must report the delivery to your company and then forward the documents.

They should agree upon a set of processes for receiving and delivering the documents. They will decide whether the documents will be sent to the business by the registered agent via email, mail, or fax.

Texas Business Compliance

A registered agent can help you ensure that your business meets all state-required continuing support filings.

Each state has its own rules regarding maintenance filings. These include annual reports and franchise tax payments.

These rules may change at any time, so your registered agent should keep current in order to maintain good standing with the state for your business and avoid dissolution or fines.

How to select a Texas registered agent

Two options exist for selecting a Texas Registered Agent. You have two options when it comes to choosing a Texas Registered Agent.

You could also become your own registered agent. This job is best done by a professional. It is not expensive and they will finish the job in a year.

Choosing an Internal Registered Agent

Any member of the LLC can serve as the registered agent, which could include you or your employees. The Registered Agent will be your home or office address. Each LLC must provide its mailing address and principal office address to the state’s online public system.

It will be much easier to hire a registered agent because you can use their address as a post office address.

Registered Agent Services

For a reasonable price of $100-$299 per year, professional registered agent services can be arranged. This will ensure your business is represented by the best service provider.

We’ve compiled a list of the best registered agent services in Texas. They can handle the job for your benefit.

Choosing a Texas Registered Agent

These are some of the things you should keep in mind when choosing a registered agent.

  • Service Fee: Many states require that formal businesses register agents. It is therefore important to select the best-registered agent. An annual cost for a registered agent is $99-$300 It is a small price to pay considering the time savings.
  • Experience and tenure of a registered agent: Registered agents should have tested and established procedures for handling documents. Register agent services should have been in existence for some time. They are able to handle all your documentation.
  • State Jurisdiction Limit: It is better to have one registered agent for each state than it is to deal with multiple registered agents. This will reduce administrative burdens. Each state has one of our recommended registered agents.
  • Monitoring and Follow-up Services: To ensure you’re fully informed about all laws, rules and regulations that impact your company, it is important to quickly obtain the most current information from your registered agent.

How can I appoint a registered agent in Texas?

An LLC can appoint a registered agent to act as the Texas Certificate of Organization. It can be done online or by post. No cost is required to appoint a registered agent. Only the state filing fee needs to be paid.

My research to find the best Texas registered agent

Here’s how I found the top Texas registered agents to help you form an LLC.

I was able to compare the packages and research information about Texas registered agents. I was looking for the best service when I tried to find the right registered agent for my website.

To allow my website to receive mail or process service, I needed a street address that was open during business hours. To keep my businesses in good standing with the Secretary of State, I needed compliance alerts.

As I spoke with entrepreneurs, small business owners, and friends who have online businesses, it became clear that not everyone has time or patience to look from site to site to find the best Texas registered agent service provider.

My knowledge enabled me and my colleagues to make informed decisions about Texas registered agent services. My advice was trusted by many who have read my website, which surprised me.

How did I choose the best Texas registered agents?

I started with more than 10 service providers. After my screening, I narrowed the list down to 4. Based on my four main evaluation steps, I chose my top four services.

My First Step: Reviews

I started by reading reviews and collecting, the honest voices of thousands of people just like me. Trustpilot, Facebook, and Better Business Bureau reviews overwhelmed me. They allowed me to categorize them according to various criteria (ease of use, affordability, customer support, privacy protection, taxes, etc. ).

I was able to identify obvious frauds as well as misleading offers.

Second Step: Website Analysis

After I had removed the illegitimate providers I began to look at the websites of the remaining corporations to get a better understanding of what they stand for and how authentic their advertising is.

I was especially interested in optimizing their products and services, customer support, and company experience, as well as any recognition they received.

Third Step: Speaking with real customers

Websites and sales representatives can tell you a lot about the company. But customers will tell them how they deliver it. Are they efficient? Are they efficient? Are they polite? Are they polite?

Although online reviews can fill in some of the gaps, most reviews are written by people who have had overwhelmingly positive experiences. This can cloud your view. You can get a better understanding of your customers by talking to them.

I reached out to people who I helped find a registered agent, and new visitors to my site looking for one. It was wonderful to hear their stories.

I was able to see the entire service from every angle.

My fourth step: Talking with the Marketing and Sales Teams

To complete my research, I spoke with the sales representatives of each company. After gathering all customer complaints, reviews, and files, I began to ask tough questions about the company’s failure to meet their expectations.

Negative reviews are often ignored by many companies. Others will tell you that they have taken feedback into consideration and have improved their operations.

This was the final step that separated the ordinary from the extraordinary.

My Rating Criteria

These are the four key factors that influenced my choice for the best registered agent to represent Texas LLC.

#1: I checked the services and features

First, I looked at the company’s services and features. Other factors such as ease of use and cost don’t really matter if the company doesn’t provide the services Texas registered agents require. I viewed the companies in the same way a consumer and shopper would.

I was able to identify my own requirements for finding a good registered agent. I was curious if this registered agent service would be a good fit for me. Are they able to provide the features I require for my business?

These are the things I thought of:

  • Do you have access to online documents through the registered agent? Or do they mail them directly to your Texas street address?
  • Are you able to get alerts from the registered agent about compliance deadlines and filing deadlines for annual reporting? Is the registered agent able to give you a calendar for your LLC/business?
  • Does the registered agent provide privacy guarantees?
  • Is it possible for the registered agent to offer affordable Texas LLC formation services?
  • Is the state fee filing and payment responsibility of the registration agent?
  • You can choose to file the change online or mail it in.
  • Is the agent available to accept the service of process?

The top-ranked registered agents in Texas were those offering the most services, while those who offered fewer options were at the bottom or middle.

#2: I checked the pricing

Although most people focus on the price, it is important that you consider the product’s worth. This can differ greatly from one Texas registered agent. A good registered agent will cost you between $125 and $299 annually. LegalZoom is a brand name that charges $299 per annum. However, most registered agents know that Northwest offers the best service and privacy at a reasonable $125 per.

#3: I checked the ease of use

When you set up a business or LLC in Texas, your time is valuable.

My next consideration was the ease of signing up. My top choice was the easiest, most efficient and least intrusive system. I would give one of my lowest ranks to a company if they asked me to move one document from another in a slow system.

#4: I checked their customer service and support

No matter how user-friendly, intuitive, or simple a system is, all customers need support. Although not all business owners can be tech-savvy, Texas businesses should have a registered agent they trust.

When choosing an agent to represent a company or LLC in Texas, I took customer service into consideration.

Texas registered agent services were evaluated based on their ability to efficiently and quickly solve customer problems using highly-trained, experienced agents. Texas registered agents do not need to be required for limited liability businesses and small businesses in Texas. They should be available to answer calls quickly and give generic answers.

Conclusion

Texas registered agents are crucial to your company’s legal compliance. These tasks may seem easy, but if they are not done correctly, they could lead to substantial fines or even the dissolution of your company.

While you can always replace your registered agents later, it’s important to choose the right agent for your company at the beginning. You should also keep an eye on your compliance status to ensure nothing goes wrong.
